Senior Associate

RESPONSIBILITIES

Messaging | Positioning

  • Participate in daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly strategic client messaging discussions
  • Monitor, analyze daily news activity and articulate media opportunities
  • Help to define campaign goals, messages, quarterly plans

Content Creation

  • Help to design content that delivers the message in a fresh way, while leveraging topical news trends
  • Create original drafts of press releases, pitches, blog posts, web copy and other content with minimal direction from Director/VP
  • Excellent eye for detail and ability to self-edit, as well as mentoring junior staff in writing/editing
  • Support maintenance of media lists, news coverage & press release libraries

Audience Engagement

  • Spearheading media/analyst and thought leadership outreach for accounts
  • Consistently secure national and broadcast media placement
  • Maintain established media relationships with cleantech and vertical trades
  • Support strategy, positioning, messaging and execution for press and analyst tours
  • Consistently secure high-profile speaking opportunities and awards
  • Supervise maintenance of speaking and award opportunity calendars
  • Support integration of social media strategies and best practices into client campaigns
  • Manage and monitor clients’ online social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)

Professional Development

  • Training and mentoring account coordinators and account associates
  • Networking and assisting in new business development

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of PR agency experience
  • High level of comfort and effectiveness communicating with media, clients and team
  • Superb ability to translate creative thought into original writing
  • The ability to manage multiple deadline-driven activities without missing a beat
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism or related communications field

Account Executive
 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Messaging  

  • Support daily, weekly, and quarterly strategic client messaging discussions
  • Monitor and analyze daily news activity and articulate media opportunities
  • Begin to grasp mc² tone and style of designing content that delivers the message in a fresh way, while leveraging topical news trends
  • Oversee creation and delivery of weekly agendas 

Content Creation

  • Support original drafts of pitches, press releases, web copy and other content with direction from senior team.
  • Develop media briefs.

Audience Engagement

  • Support media/analyst and thought leadership outreach 
  • Begin to establish personal media relationships 
  • Support strategy, positioning, messaging and execution for press and analyst tours
  • Support efforts to secure high-profile speaking opportunities and awards
  • Provide upkeep of quarterly / annual speaking and award opportunity calendars
  • Support integration of social media strategies and best practices into client campaigns
  • Manage and monitor clients’ online social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in rhetoric or related communications major
  • Agency PR experience & demonstrated track record of positive results
  • High level of comfort and effectiveness communicating with media, clients and team members
  • Superb ability to translate technical writing into creative copy
  • The ability to manage multiple deadline-driven activities without missing a beat
  • Social media experience, beyond Facebook and Twitter
  • Bonus:

Communications Intern

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy & Messaging: 

  • Join weekly client strategy calls and help take notes

Content Creation: 

  • Lead social media campaigns for mc² (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and clients

Audience Engagement: 

  • Monitor, track, and analyze daily news activity in relevant client industries (clean energy, finance, transportation and/or connectivity) 
  • Create media briefs in advance of client interviews
  • Research and build targeted media / analyst lists 

Thought Leadership: 

  • Research and maintain client thought leadership dashboard for conferences & awards   
  • Update client speaker bios with newly secured events
  • Create conference speaking and award drafts

Administrative / Reporting: 

  • Maintain results databases. 
  • Add coverage / press releases etc. to mc² website. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in rhetoric or related communications major
